Dulzura Magazine
Why I Created Dulzura
Dulzura was created with the belief that even in somewhere as brutal as the fashion industry, teens’ and young women’s creativity can be taken seriously. Dulzura is meant to be a creativity outlet that doesn’t require an extensive resume, just simply a love for fashion and storytelling through it. I wanted to build a brand that felt passion-driven—somewhere that fashion, writing, and art could thrive.
The name ‘Dulzura’ came from my best friend, Marisol, so it’s safe to say that this magazine started with the vision of connecting people. The word translates to "sweetness" in Spanish. I’ve always believed that there’s a strength and authenticity in softer people. Dulzura exists to remind all creatives alike that young voices should be taken seriously and will be heard.
About the Editor-in-Chief
My name is Madison Lorena; I am 18 years old and a senior in high school. Ever since I was young, I loved fashion and the stories and designers behind it. I've always believed the things we can't see when it comes to magazines and runways are the things that give them life. The concept of Dulzura started when I saw another passion project that I admired and wanted to be part of. From that, I realized that creating something of my own was possible and my vision could become reality. Dulzura was born from the idea that all creativity needs is a space to grow, inspiration, and confidence in your ability.
